The increase in performance refers to the computational performance available. Depending on the technological/process-related conditions, this increase in performance is included in the total result. A faster IPO clock cycle (as a result of faster processors) and lower PLC cycle times result, partially, in significantly improved technological/process-related results; e.g. shorter unit/clock cycle times, higher speeds for eccentric turning, higher feed rates for mould construction.

4096 additional I/O addresses are available and can be seen in STEP 7; however these addresses are reserved for future applications. For compatibility reasons, these addresses may not be used.

Brief instructions: (prerequisites: SIMATIC know-how; STEP 7)
When changing-over from an NCU with PLC315-2DP to an NCU with PLC 314C-2DP or PLC317-2DP, in the hardware configuration in the module catalog, the matching Rack0 should be selected under "SIMATIC 300\SINUMERIK\810D / 840D".
Further it should be checked as to whether a Profibus diagnostics block of A&D AS (FC125 or FB125) is used. These blocks must be brought up to the actual version (V4.9).
